Dr. Samer Hayek, PGY I, received the Certificate of Best Poster at the 5th Africa and Middle East Congress on Addiction (AMECA) for the study "Drugs and alcohol themes in recent feature films: A systematic content analysis".
Held in Tunisia
on May 3-6, 2018
, the international congress fostered a total of 180 posters pertaining to the topics of addictive behaviors and trauma exposure in adolescents. Dr. Hayek’s poster was one of the 4 awarded posters by the AMECA scientific committee.
After winning at the Lebanese Research Forum at the Cross Hospital and at the Eighth Annual Biomedical Research Day at AUB, and after presenting at the MEMA two weeks ago, receiving this international prize was yet another milestone that proves the strength of Psychiatry residency program and Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Hayek thanked Dr. Joseph El Khoury for his continuous dedication to provide psychiatry residents with the best opportunities. “This would not have been possible without his support and guidance” he said.
